Calling all "flying monkeys"

We really need fire season to start, to get the crews out of the station. They are starting to act a little crazy, just hanging around each other. The other day, when I got home from work, there was a message on our answering machine. When I played the message I heard "BBBBAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAA EEEEEEKKKKKKKkk." It was the weirdest sound I'd ever heard. However because of that wonderful thing called Caller ID, I knew it came from my husband's station. So my first thought was he's found a weird internet sound and called me. Well I went about my chores and received a phone call from his cell phone. When I answered, he said "Hey..............BBBBBAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAA EEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKK......I just thought I'd let you know I'm on my .........BBBBAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAA EEEEEEEEEEEEKKKKKKKKK... way home." I said "What on earth is that noise?"
"What noise....." he said acting suspicous.
"You know that loud weird sound..."
" I'll show you when I get home.......bye."
So now I'm thinking, "oh great another joke." He finally pulled in the driveway and came in the door. He could hardly wait to share that thing with me while I was cooking dinner. He walked in the kitchen, made that loud weird noise again, which cause me to turn around and say "what the heck is that!" When I turned I saw he had this monkey thing on his pointer fingers (similar to a sling shot) and he shot it at the cabinet. That's right, he brought home a flying, screaming toy monkey. So I asked him where he got it. He said this girl on his crew (we'll call her K) shot it at him during morning briefing. He said that the whole crew shot this thing around all day, so he asked K if he could bring it home to share with my dad. Another person who is entertained by my husband's constant humor & pranks. He called my dad and asked him to stop by on his way home from work. My dad is an Air Attack Captain at the firefigthing tanker base near our town. When my dad got there I said "watchout Dad" as my husband said "And now for the newest Air Attack...." as he launched this monkey in the air. My dad was laughing so hard he almost had tears in his eyes. I guess it's a firestation sense of humor. He told my dad that K had picked it up at a corner liquor store or something. She thought she'd lighten the mood at work with it. So if you should meet a crew from Southern California on a fire WATCH OUT FOR "flying monkey's".
