Okay, I have to confess to all my blogging friends, that I have fallen into the "winter mode" and have slacked on my posts. We all know that even when the winter months hit, we do not stop living the lives of firefighter wives. I want to share this thought with you and hope to trigger some responses from you all. What type of extra hobbies or activities do you like to do?? A dear friend of mine once said "even though you are married to a fireman, you can't let that career run your life. It's important to have something else to keep you busy." I must confess, growing up in a fire family and then marrying a fireman, I have been consumed by fire!! I understand a lot of the terminology and the functions of the fire service (especially wild land fire fighting). BUT, I have also become active in my Women's Ministries at church, began selling Pampered Chef and got a gym membership. I try not to let this lifestyle (a fireman's wife is a lifestyle) run my life. I am however, a 110% supportive of my husband and am always ready to listen to his struggles or adventures of being a supervisor. So I leave you with this thought.......
What type of extra activities do you enjoy?? What do you and your husband do together during the "quiet" months??

Do you really want to know what John and I did during the winter months while the kids were in school? LOL
Okay, besides lots of that, we played golf, watched old movies, cooked together, generally just hung around each other as much as possible. We would go woodcutting once April 1st rolled around, we would take the kids on trips to Disneyland and Louisiana. I guess that we did everything during the winter that normal people would do during the summer. Love you sweetie!!
Ok, I guess I should have put a disclaimer (esp. for Lori). I can guess that most of us get caught up in "......" during the winter. But thanks for sharing the other things you do!!!
We go to the park on any warm days with our son. House projects. Bake together. Do a lot of hanging out. As far as activities for me outside of my hubby...I quilt, crochet, scrapbook (all of this of course is after the little one goes to bed). While he's awake I do a whole lot of playing, chasing and cleaning.
Merci
