This fall weather always inspires me to get out some baking recipes and become Betty Crocker. Today we are getting some very peaceful light rain. It smells so good outside and it is so soothing, and it's perfect for reading, too. When we start getting this cooler weather it reminds me that we are almost done with the worst fire season months. Some of you are anxiously awaiting the date your husband has recieved for his seasonal lay-off. However, others of us, still have full-time working firemen husbands.
I have to share this funny story. My silent identity was blown by my dear husband. I have been building a wifey relationship with another WFF wife, who has a husband in SoCal, too. We are hoping to meet this winter in person. As it turns out, our husbands have been on many fires together without even knowing eachother. Well, my husband shares with me how he was talking to some supervisors who work with her husband. He asked about her husband and the supervisors said "how do you know him?" My husband shared how his wife & I were communicating through email and sharing stories. He told them that I have this website for WFF wives. They all said "oh your wife does the WFF wife blog!!" SO MUCH FOR BEING A MYSTERIOUS WIFE (hahaha). The supervisors told my husband a little about her husband, who is a hard working FF on their crew. So I shared this story with his wife and to my amazement......her husband has walked by my husband (who is a supervisor) and knows who he is, but neither have introduced themselves to eachother. How funny is that!! His wife & I are emailing and learning a lot about eachother and our families, and they have actually seen eachother in person. I guess it's a small world!! So hopefully we will meet eachother, with our husbands when they aren't so dirty and tired on a fireline or in firecamp.
Hope you are all staying busy while your hubby is at work!!
