Last fire assignment (for a while)

I have to share this story with my faithful WFFwives blog readers.

My husband & I have been on the journey to adopt a child for about 2 years now. We were recently selected by a birthmom to adopt her baby BOY, at birth. She is due August 9th (7 days to go). We are filled with joy as we are quickly filling the nursery with some things to get us started. We have been praying for a child for 12 years now, but God has it planned in his own time, not ours. We know this is our baby, because of so many things that have happened.

Hubby is on his way to a fire in CA with his crew today. He will be back Tuesday PM as we are suppose to meet the BM on Wednesday am. He joked and said this was his last fire assignment for a while, so he is going to make money for baby booties & diapers. He works for such an amazing agency that allows and encourages family time. He will be able to (in the middle of fireseason) take a few weeks off to spend time at home with me & baby. We are truly blessed and we are looking forward to the many years of joy with our baby. As you can imagine, we are doing the nursery in doggies & fire trucks. All of the clothes I have so far are YEP you guessed it firefighter baby things. My mom gave me a shirt last night that says "When I grow up, I wanna be a fire chief".

So anyways, I wanted to share this firefighter wife's story about a fire and a special gift.

I pray that all of you and your husbands are having a safe and good summer!!
