2016 Firefighter Retreat

I want to share this retreat with you!!  We had such an amazing time, with a huge group of firefighters and their wives.  The retreat is every year and it is at Hume Lake Christian Camp, in California and partners with Firefighters For Christ .  It's on the Sequoia NF.  For those of you familiar with the area of the Rough Fire (2015) that is where it's located.  It was a 3 day event with an amazing guest speaker, fun activities (archery, off-road adventure in a jeep, a rope climb, or you could just get a golf cart and drive around the huge camp and explore & spend quality time together), a muster between agencies and LOTS of great food!!  We met some new friends and also enjoyed the company of a bunch of old friends.  There were departments from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Arizona, San Diego, Murrieta, Carlsbad, and a few other locations in California.  However, I might add that my husband & I were the only "green" US Forest Service people and there was nobody from CalFire.  If your husband works for either the USFS or CalFire, I challenge you to sign up.  Hubby wants to get enough USFS guys there to participate in the muster next year. They even had a couple of firefighters there (on an exchange program) from Canada and Australia.  If you are a follower of this blog and you went to the retreat, please feel free to post a comment about your experience.  I highly recommend it and hubby & I already pre-booked for next year.  What more to say that Firefighters,
Fire-wives, Food, Fellowship and just a great time to reconnect as a couple. So worth it!!!!!
