I am a 3rd generation married into the fire service. My husband is on a Hot Shot crew in California. I feel like there is nobody to talk to, when he's gone, who understands what happens in our home. So with the help of my husband and encouragement from a good friend (Susan) I have created this blog.
I have decided as a Wildland Fireman's Wife, that I'd like a place where other Wildland Firefighter's Wives can gather, chat and share thoughts. I hope you'll enjoy this blog as we share stories that make us cry, laugh so hard (we pee our pants) or just for encouragement, while our hubands/boyfriends are out fighting the dangerous wildfires each year. I have chosen to become the "moderator" and I will keep close watch on the activity on this website. I want this to be a safe haven for us.
I do encourage you due to our lack of "home alone" a lot, that you don't give any information about where you live, or how much he's gone. It's also a good idea to refer to your husband by his initials or just "dh" for dear husband.
