Birthday present or gift for me?

Today, I am going to use my authority as "the wife" to spend some of our Overtime $$. If you read a post down below, you'll hear the frustration I had with our TV. Well, I found a steal of a deal, and it's what we've always talked about getting. So today, I'm taking the check book down to the store to buy us a Flat Screen/HDTV monitor for our bedroom. I will make this his birthday present, or is it a gift for me. HMMM??? Well, I think he'll like it enough that he'll watch it more (when he's home), but we all know that I'm the one who'll benefit from this purchase the most!! My mom & dad checked it out for me, and they also did a little price shopping for me. We can't find anything that even compares to the price. Don't worry, I'm not buying a TV from the ninety-nine cent store. What we found was the floor model/hardly used marked down to get rid of it, to make room for newer models. When I went in to look at it myself, the manager, who knows us, said he'd mark it down another 5% for us. So for under $500.00 we'll have a nice new TV. Now the fun part will be hooking it up. Let's see if I can mess that up...... God blessed me with a husband who is very smart when it comes to audio/stereo stuff. Me, well let's say I know what a coax cable is, and I know how to plug it in. Oh yea, I also know how to operate a remote control. Maybe I can bribe my dad into stopping by after work today to help his clueless daughter. A smile, and a cold rootbeer, usually always work; maybe I'll even bake him some cookies. My mom, says I spoil him too much. But he's my dad, I'm supposed too spoil him!! So tonight, if all goes right, I'll be watching TV while sitting in my bed. I hope it surprises him, not upsets him!!
Oh the crazy things we do when they are gone. My husband says he fears coming home, because he's not sure what room I've painted, furniture I've moved around or what home projects I've started then can't finish, so I leave them for him. Bet he never thought I'd purchase some electronics while he's gone!!
