Have you ever been embarassed?

This morning at church, I sat with my friend & her family. I showed her my new shoes that we bought on a shopping spree. She laughed when she noticed that I had a brown shoe on and a gold shoe on. YEP, I managed to purchase 2 different shoes. I was so embarrassed. I wanted to take them off and put them in my purse. Even during prayer time, we both chuckled because now it really stood out. I prayed that I could make it out of church and to my car, before anyone else noticed and thought I had gone crazy. However, my embarrassment had only begun. We stood to shake hands of those around us. I shook about 10-15 hands, some of people I had never seen. I smiled, said my name and we shook hands. Well, when I sat down, my friend grabbed my wrist. She said when I turned to say "good-morning" to her, she noticed I managed to only get one silver hoop earring in. YEP....I was at church with miss-matched shoes and only 1 earring. I quickly took it out and threw it in my purse. Now her husband had caught on to this awful wardrobe mishap, and he was chuckling. I felt the pastor look right toward us. I prayed that he didn't notice my shoes. I can only imagine what the new people thought of this cheerful lady, who wore 1 earring to church. I truly think that I am suffering from lack of husband home and sleepless nights, because now I'm losing my mind. So tomorrow, I'm headed back to the store to return my shoes. Or perhaps, I can find the shoe that matches the one I bought. Wish me luck....

Oh man...I wish had seen your feet today! If it's any consolation, I walked past you (you were engaged in conversation) and I TOTALLY did NOT notice your shoes.

But yes, I have been embarrassed. When I was taking summer school at Grossmont College back in 2000 I slipped off the edge of the sidewalk and did a somersault. It should be noted that this was in the middle of a huge crowd and I was wearing a short skirt and I was 18. I think the combination is quite humorous.
