Can't believe fire season 2012 has begun.
We were having our Family Day with Hubby's crew on Sunday. Our son just loves his Daddy's Hotshot Crew. He thinks they are all so tall and there is a lot of them!! We left the park and headed home after a long day with the Hotshots and other families. When we got home, he was asleep. While he was napping, I recieved a call from DH at exactly "quitting time" with the infamous words: "Well we've been ordered." When our son woke up, I told him Daddy won't be home, because he's going to a fire with the Hotshots. His eyes got big and he said "with all the big Hotshots......yay!!" I don't think it sunk in until we were getting ready for his bedtime, that Daddy wouldn't be home. Luckily before he went to bed, we were able to talk to Daddy on the cell phone.
I'm praying that all our WFF husbands have a safe fire season. I look forward to your comments or email me your stories.

I wish your husband and his crew a safe fire season. My husband is on his way to their first out of state assignment. I'm keeping busy with my blog. Follow me , as I will be including some WFF specific posts throughout the summer. http://musingsandsuch-christinadarling.blogspot.com/
Hello! I am a fellow firefighter wife blogger. I hope your husband has a safe return! I've had many nights putting the kids to bed while Daddy's out. He's a volunteer. I look forward to keeping up with your blog! Stop by and check out my Life Between the Tones if you have a minute :)
This is my boyfriends first season and I was wondering what he she take with him?
i've checked out your blog a few times since the day my husband was hired on as a seasonal wff. find myself visiting more often now. :) we live in northern colorado, but he's stationed at fort howes in montana. this is his first working season, our 2 year wedding anniversary is in 3 weeks, and i haven't seen him in over a month... feeling a little helpless some of the time (and frustrated, since i'm not a particularly vulnerable person otherwise). not knowing when i'm going to see him again is one of the most difficult things ever for me. we tried to make plans a couple of times to meet in wyoming on days off, but both times were cancelled due to those pesky fires, ha ha. i'm not a "sit around and wait" kind of person, so having your blogs to read has been a nice comfort. thanks for sharing, ladies! if anyone has any advice for dealing with the "first season blues," i'm all ears! :)
