What do I do now?

Well, we all know that as a Fireman's Wife, the inevitable is that while they are gone, something around the house will break, or something won't work! Well, when my husband is gone, I have had this habit of leaving the bedroom TV on most of the night. Sometimes I actually watch those stupid late night paid programming shows, that are definite ways to make you fall asleep. However, I usually don't turn the TV off, because it fills that void of a quiet house. I turn the volume way down, set the timer on it, so it'll shut off when I am sleeping. I know this sounds crazy, but it has become a habit of mine. Well, the other morning I clicked the remote to turn on the AM news. However, the TV wouldn't come on. I thought maybe the batteries were getting low in the remote, because that has happened before. Then that night before laying my head down on the pillow, I clicked it and nothing happened. So I tried plugging it into another outlet. Nothing happened!! Then I tried wiggling the power cord from the TV to the plug. Nothing happened!! So I put on my IPOD and listened to some relaxing music. I felt sleepy, so I took off the headphones. Wouldn't you know it, my body couldn't fall asleep. My brain said "I'm sleepy", but my eyes said "NO". After talking with my husband on the phone, he said "well that TV is a bit older, so it is possible that the power cord to the TV has gone out. That happens." That was not what I wanted to hear!! So now, I watch TV in the living room until I yawn myself asleep, only to struggle to close my eyes when I get into bed. I've tried reading, writing in my journal, and even the relaxing music. I'm just having a hard time falling asleep. We are such creatures of habit, aren't we??
Well, I guess that explains why this post is being typed at midnight!!! Hopefully my body will accept this adjustment, because this assignment he's on looks like it will be a 2 week one.

Hi Trish-
Loved your email. I laughed so loud that I was forced to send it to the other ladies in HR. Laughter was then heard throughout the SO!!
Just so you know your not so crazy about the tv thing - I sleep with it on all night too! Hope you are doing OK and Jim and his crew are safe!
