4 days!!!!!

It's a rare thing to have hubby home for 2 days during fire season.  They usually are for R&R after being gone on a 14 day assignment.  His crew when they got home had been gone 19 days, so we were looking forward to his two days R&R.  The coolest thing is we had those two days and then the normal days off came and he actually got those, too.  We had 4 days as a family!!!  It was so nice and I feel like we filled every moment with special things.  This time of year, it seems fire season is harder!!  For us, in SoCal, our fire season is just really beginning.  In the past 10 years, all of the significant fires have been late October.  So I find it hard not to grumble when he's been gone so much, because I know we're not done, yet.  I keep telling myself, only 2.5 more months and fire season is over (at least for his crew).  For our family, December is our month.  He's always taken most of the month off (annual leave) and we do our family vacations then, when most people are still in school and at work.  Right now, I'm looking forward to those days.  Our baby is about to crawl and starting to make sounds similar to words.  So I'm hoping and praying that she doesn't do anything super special until he's home.
