Hang in there......
I am a member of this Wildland Firefighter Facebook page. The following is a post that was posted today by a WFF Capitan.
"To all of you brothers and sisters out there feeling the pain of exhaustion and weary minds that lack sleep, my prayers to all of you that you continue to carry on until the fight is over. You all have done your part that will soon go down as a season well done and the laughter will soon be heard in your home as winter approaches and the decks will be loaded with wood, wood stoves once again heating the home and the smell of burning pine and oak fills the air, I wish all of you a safe Continued fire season until rain brings us home, LCES..."
Just makes me realize that our hardworking WFF husbands think like us. I think we can all relate to the fact that we look forward to the "slow season" when our guys are home with us more. I find myself counting weeks left. This year hubby has been gone a lot, and he keeps telling me "we have a vacation to pay for" in December as our family vacation. I know he loves his job, his family, and I think my fellow USFS wives can relate to those nice fire checks, but I can't wait to have him home. The post just made me realize that when they are busy, tired and gone a lot, they too, think about their families at home and how nice it'll be with us.
